Master’s Thesis Opportunities

We offer two types of Master’s thesis projects:

1. Theoretical Master’s Thesis

This project focuses on specific topics within cancer research, with emphasis on current

questions in tumor biology and therapy resistance.

2. Practical Master’s Thesis

Our current experimental focus is on:

• Lysosomal proteases and their role in cancer progression

• Mechanisms of metastasis

• Mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy and radiation therapy

• Investigation of novel synthetic and natural EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs)

Required Skills

For practical work, students should ideally have:

• Solid knowledge of cell culture techniques

• Experience or familiarity with molecular biology methods such as:

      o Transfection

      o Bacterial transformation (e.g. E. coli)

      o Western blotting

Additional advantage:

• Basic knowledge of computational methods, such as:

      o Molecular docking

      o Molecular dynamics simulations
